Yummy food!

My friend, Bushra, came over on Friday and made us a traditional Iranian dinner . . . to last the entire weekend! It was delicious!! The first dish (upper left) has chicken seasoned with cumin, turmeric, salt and pepper. Then she added sliced carrot, zucchini chunks, sweet potato and water and let it simmer. She cooked the cous cous (bottom left) with vegetable stock and served the chicken concoction on top . . . so good! She said that they would normally eat it with rice but that when the moved to this country they were introduced to cous cous and now they eat it all time. The other pan (top right) has spring onion, minced beef, turmeric, cumin , sliced zucchini and 10 tomatoes. This one we saved until Sunday and ate it with rice. Again, yummy! She said she can cook about 20 different types of rice. I didn't know there were that many!?!?!?!
