Battersea Park Zoo

. . . was actually more like a farm, but the kids had a great time! They loved the playground equipment, as always.

But they spent most of their time on the tractor and in the sandpit.

Amongst the monkeys, lemurs, meerkats, coati, sheep, pot bellied pigs, rabbits, ponies and ducks, our favorite animals were the turkey (since the peacock refused to spread her feathers) and the laughing Kookaburra. We happened upon the Kookaburra display at feeding time and learned that their favorite dish is baby chicks. Even though they are already dead, the Kookaburra repeatedly beat the chicks against tree branches to tenderize their meal before devouring them whole. Justin and McKenzie thought it was "terribly" cool!

McKenzie found a friend "just her size" that she just wouldn't stop hugging.

And, of course, there was ice cream!
