Pinkalicious

One of McKenzie's favorite books is Pinkalicious, by Victoria & Elizabeth Kahnn - a cute book about a mischievous little girl who eats so many pink cupcakes she turns pink! Other McKenzie favorites are the plethora of treasures to be found in the Target dollar bins. Her latest - pink bubblegum scented Hello Kitty hand lotion. Combine the two and what do you get?

Kenzie-licious!!

Josie Week 8

PRETTY IN PINK!

Josie is two months old and sooooo adorable! She is very social - always ready with a grin - and loves to talk! She now weighs 10 lbs. 1 oz. and is 20 inches long. Despite her growth, we think she may be allergic to milk. Her doctor has put me on a no-dairy diet for the next couple of months (harder than it sounds!) to see if we can clean up her system. Other than that, she truly is the perfect baby!

What we do while Justin is at school

Take pictures!

Birthday appendage

For Justin's birthday, we took him to the Southeastern Railway Museum. Lots of OLD steam and diesel trains, and trucks and tractors to boot! The perfect attraction for our transportation lover and his sidekick. I think Grandpa kinda liked it too!

Kindergarten

The first day of school!
Waiting for the bus.
Who is Maggie?

What's bigger . . . the backpack or the boy?
Did he love it?
YES!

Happy Birthday Justin!

Oh, how I love Justin! My little boy is growing up! I love that he wanted a police car/fire truck themed party and that he still loves to play. But when I look back on all he's accomplished this past year, it amazes me how much he has learned and how much he has matured. One year and two days ago my son flew over the pond with our family to resume life in the States, yet he is still able to recount with superb clarity every train station, airport, bus ride, and more that we experienced living in London (and Paris and Barcelona). He's completed his second year of full time preschool, learned to read, does simple addition and subtraction, and started kindergarten. He's mastered his two-wheeler, learned to swim and joined a local soccer team. He's graduated from Sunbeams and confidently moved up to CTR 5s with a teacher he loves and friends he adores:
For his birthday we had planned various water balloon activities, but the weather didn't cooperate. So with a little quick thinking and A LOT of help from Uncle Luke and creative cousins, Tyler and Alex, we pulled off a totally different - and FUN - party.

We had a treasure hunt, complete with detailed maps, that led to a pinata in the basement. The kids loved swingin' away . . . but the darn thing would not break! Finally, Alex took a whack and everyone descended on the goods!
Happy birthday sweet boy! I love you!

Josie's blessing

This is also the dress that McKenzie was blessed in three years ago and that I was blessed in 30+ years ago. Very cool! Josie looked beautiful and slept through the whole thing. (In fact, she slept through the whole block of meetings - again. Sunday seems to be her true day of rest.) Alex gave a beautiful blessing and proudly held her the rest of the meeting.

McKenzie, Seth & Logan (or Logan & Seth - I'm not sure which is which)

Favorite cousin Jeremy
Thanks to everyone for sharing this day with us!

It's hard to imagine what our lives were like just five years ago - hoping, wishing and praying for a baby to come into our home. And now, we have three beautiful children whom I can't imagine not being a part of our lives. Josie was truly meant to come to our family and we are so blessed to have her in our home. We love her smiles, her snuggles and her coos!
Just for the record, this is the outfit Justin was blessed in five years ago and that Alex was blessed in 30+ years ago. Again, very cool!
