JOSIE Week 4
I can't believe my baby is already a month old! She is so sweet - perfect in every way!
These pictures are NOT from Josie's first bath because her first bath was a disaster! She pooped three times - each time in a new tub of water - so I didn't have a chance to grab the camera. She also screamed most of the time (probably from having to get in and out and back in . . . and out and back in, again). Now, she loves bathtime!
She loves to snuggle . . .
And she loves her brother . . .
McKenzie's still not sure what to make of her.
I understand that the occasional blowout and spit-up come with the territory, however, one day in particular comes to mind: McKenzie has gym class once a week at 10:00 a.m. and Josie is often still in her pajamas catching an early morning nap at this time so, I left her in her pj's and rushed off to class. There, I fed her, after which she immediately filled her diaper, her blanket and my lap with a very potent bowel movement. While trying to quickly remove the dirty diaper and put a clean one on, she peed all over and down my leg. After she was all changed, I went to burp her and she hurled all over me - the projectile kind, not the cute drooly kind. All within an hour. She had a change of clothes, I did not.
I love that she recognizes my voice and immediately responds. I love how she smells. I love that she snuggles right after nursing. I love how she smiles first thing in the morning. I love to watch her stretch. I love her petite face and tiny tongue. I love my baby Josie!

Too cute!

Swimming
Justin had a couple weeks of lessons this year which really helped to boost his confidence. Now one of his favorite activities is seeing how long he can hold his breathe while checking out the bottom of the pool. McKenzie is half fish. She already matches Justin stroke for stroke and tries to escape her floaty anytime we turn our head. She's fearless. Swim teams are big around here so next year, they'll both get a chance to compete.
